Adams was later promoted to colonel in the 33rd Alabama Infantry Regiment, C.S.A. He was killed at Atlanta. Ambrotype is 3.75 x 4.25 inches. It does not have a case.

Francis was captain of Co.B, 30th Alabama Infantry from 1862 until promoted to major in August 1863. He was promoted to lieutenant colonel a few weeks before he was killed at Rocky Face Ridge, Georgia.
