Object Description |
This regulation Confederate officer's kepi with oilcloth cover was worn by Lieutenant Maynard A. Hassell when he was killed by Federal artillery fire at Lovejoy Station, Georgia, on August 20, 1864. Maynard was a member of Garrity's Battery and was inscribed on the Confederate Roll of Honor for his actions during the Battle of Murfreesboro (Stones River), December 31, 1862, through January 2, 1863. |
