Object Description |
Hand-painted sign for the office of the Rainbow Division surgeon at Ahrweiler, Germany, used during postwar occupation in 1919. On the bottom edge, the artists signed their names, followed by "Quick Sign Co." They painted the sign over an older depiction of a castle. |
Provenance Description |
The sign was presented to the Alabama Department of Archives and History by Sergeant Richard Panke, a Birmingham native who served in the Medical Department during the war. |
