This collection contains a selection of textual materials such as letters, diaries, minutes, fliers, clippings, and excerpts from books. Alabama Media Group Collection

In December 2016 Alabama Media Group donated its massive collection of historical photographic negatives to the Alabama Department of Archives and History. The collection contains more than 3 million photographic negatives, most of which were taken by newspaper photographers working for the Birmingham News, the Huntsville Times, and Mobile’s Press-Register. The images document almost every aspect of life in the state for a period spanning more than eight decades, providing an unparalleled visual record of Alabama in the 20th century.
